In the fiat world

Cryptocurrency can be an intimidatingly complex topic for a newcomer. Rest assured that USD1 can be very useful to everyone regardless of their level of crypto knowledge.

The only piece of software you need to learn how to use in order to work with USD1 is MetaMask. Once you have an "address" on the Ethereum blockchain created through MetaMask, you have everything you need to acquire USD1, and send/receive it to/from others who have done the same. The sender simply scans the receiver's MetaMask QR code, presses "send", and the transaction settles on the Ethereum blockchain. There are no transaction fees at all other than the "gas" fees that must be paid to run transactions on the Ethereum blockchain in the Ether (ETH) cryptocurrency, which can be acquired through MetaMask as well via the "Swap" or "Buy" features. Furthermore, because USD1 is guaranteed to be redeemable for fiat US dollars in your traditional bank account at any time, you can always convert it back to regular US dollars whenever you need to.

What this ultimately implies is that USD1 can literally be used for anything that a regular USD can be used for, e.g.:

• Transfer money to anyone, anywhere, with no tx fees other than gas costs

• Pay a merchant by scanning their MetaMask QR code and pressing "Send"

• Absolutely anything else that you would normally do with a USD...

The next time you need to either send or receive USD to or from anyone for any purpose, ask them: "Can we use USD1?".
